With the recent disaster in Japan, there has definitely been an up-tick in emergency backup preparedness and rightfully so. The way this all works is fairly easy. You have the option to hardwire 110v house power (if you don’t know electric, get an electrician to do this part) into the battery box to trickle charge the housed batteries and have the 12v 140 watt solar panel act as a backup method of charging the batteries when your household power goes out. Or you can just connect the solar panel only and your system will only charge up the batteries via solar power. Gas generators only last so long before they need more gas and you know expensive gas is these days, and just imagine the lines to get it. Instead go with the clean and quiet energy alternative that recharges from the power of the sun. Listen to your instinct and get prepared. You are not alone we can confirm that many other Americans have been preparing as well.
